The College Application Process

This post is a little different than normal as it deals with the college application process.  But all of us are involved in it whether it is in writing reference letters, giving grades, talking to our students, etc.  The video above and this WashPost article that goes in depth on the college admittance process is very revealing and might even help you counsel students in the future.

My name is Meagan McRae and I am a student in EDM 310 at the University of South Alabama. Though I am going into Elementary education, I believe it is very important for teachers in upper grade levels to help students with preparing for college. It is beneficial for teachers to know how the admittance process works so that they can keep their students informed. I wish I had known more about the college process and how everything works.

I will be posting a summary of some of what I have read on your blog on 4/6/14. This can be viewed on my blog. You can also follow me on Twitter at @MeaganMcRae1.

Students of upper grades are still children and they need some assistance. I try to help my daughter and gather all possible information for her. This article is very helping too. She is also worried about her essay and we try to improve her skills every day, this this useful website for students is very supporting. It is very pleasant as her teachers keep us informed too. So I think if we have all necessary details and quite confidents in her skills and knowledge, everything will be Ok. We just shouldn`t forget to encourage our children.
