This is a fascinating article in the NY Times (originally posted as a G+ from Larry Ferlazzo) describing a 16th century watercolor painting and its hidden markings which might indicate where the Lost Colony (NC) built a fort. According to the article, James Horn of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation says that it gives them reason to excavate a new area.
