Putting the US in Perspective
Thanks to my former colleague Matt Mough for this great resource. It has lots of different countries laid over the US so you can see how they compare to the rest of the world.
Thanks for sharing this. This was extremely interesting. I underestimated the size of many countries. The video from the west wing made me laugh, it is true that when I think of America as being a much larger country I equate power to it. The most surprising thing for me was just how massive Africa is. Russia also was a bit surprising. Always a pleasure to read your blogs, thanks again.
You never really take into account how big other countries are in relation to the United States. Russia, China and Africa have a larger landmass then the United States. These maps would be a great opener on the first day of school. This could tie in with US and World history. I really like this resource its quite valuable thank you for sharing. The clip from the West Wing was great it really summed up the whole map activity. Have a great day and keep blogging.
